Just like this guy......

....I have knitted myself into a corner!! I don't quite know how it happened but I have overcommitted myself to the max at work this week. And as per usual, I didn't leave enough space in my diary to cope with the unexpected & the urgent, & all of those things have happened!!

Silly Millie - let that be a lesson to you girl! The Laurel Hedge may take on the look of frenzied mayhem designed by a Madwoman this week - so I'll apologize in advance!

  4. Hi Millie,

I just found your blog and was excited to see that you live in the Adelaide Hills. I am an American (Texas) who lived at 39 Main Rd, Belair in the early 70's.
My time in Australia was short (just shy of 2yrs) but it was the best time of my life!!! I was 16 at the time and it tore a huge chunk out of my heart to leave. Life has a funny way of coming around, as I've since reconnected with a friend in Adelaide and I've been back twice to visit. Not only that, buy my daughter married an Aussie from Melbourne 2 yrs ago. They got married in Melbourne, but live here in the US. My husband and I were there for their wedding, of course. I am a house fanatic and LOVE decorating and keeping up with all the bloggers. I don't have one myself, but have thought about it. Anyway, I would have sent you an email but couldn't find an email address. Just wanted to pop in and say Hi, and next time you are on Main Rd in Belair, look for the big white house with the thicket fence and the tennis court to the side...so MANY HAPPY memories of that place!

  10. A huge thank you to everyone for the positive comments of support - how they have replenished my weary soul! Further major dramas at work today - my largest client called a Tender today that closes next Tues. They normally give us 3 moths. to do the submissions - what are they thinking!! I see a huge weekend of work coming up - MOTH will not be happy!

Our Marketing Manager sent a bottle of Bollie down from Sydney this arvo as I was able to get him out of very big hole he had dug for himself. I'm tired of being Queen of the Mop-Up Brigade, but I'll enjoy the bubbles.

  11. Hi Toni - how lovely to have you visit! I know that area in Belair well - I think we must be around the same vintage!

I have very dear friends in Austin & visited them on my way to a conference in San Antonio a few years ago. I loved Texas & have always wanted to go back. I travel to the U.S. a couple of times a year for work, but mainly East Coast (Chicago, Washington, Boston), so need to make time to head down your way again soon. I'll post an email contact address on the site shortly - have been a bit lazy with that.
    Warm regards Millie ^_^
