Millie's Retreat

All images Himmelrommet

With the media awash with the Catholic invasion of Australia & as I've somewhat lapsed in recent times, I've been feeling guilty (an inherent part of being a Catholic!) about my lack of appropriate religious commitment.

Father Murphy always said "When all else fails go on retreat", so maybe that's what I need to do. However, no small austere cell-like room up at the Monastery @ Glen Osmond for this girl. I figure a nice little cottage in the Clare Valley near the Sevenhills Winery (owned by my mob the Jesuits specifically for producing altar wine) will be more my style!!

There is a lovely chapel on the Sevenhill property (for some Millie meditation) & I think some simple interior design style as pictured would be needed in the cottage to ensure my retreat was up to the appropriate standard required for my successful return to the flock!!

  4. Um - scrolling through those photos I thought you were going to say it was your house and I was running for my rooms to pack my bags, head up the highway and become your foster child!!! hehe. I grew up in the Mid North and it is such a lovely area. My friends (parents of my god daughter Ruby) married at the church at the winery and I was maid honour. such fabulous memories! x

  10. Oh Mille! I feel guilty too. As a catholic abroad isn't that funny. Europeans aren't into religion, somehow.

My hubby is almost atheist. He goes to catholic church only when there's a mass he forced to be w/ me & the kids.

Am a filipino and a devoted catholic when I was in the Philippines. I was once a novice. Still am very religous in my own way. I missed the moments when I'm the Phils.

I guess, I have to do a retreat of my own too. Thanks for ringing my bell.

ENjoy your winter... like am enjoying my summer. I meant, our summer is just like your winter.

    Cheers!

  11. A very warm welcome Tracey!

Thank you for your lovely words Cathy.

Michelle so happy you enjoyed your visit. A big hug for the gorgeous Winston!

Dear Miss K. how wonderful to hear about your connection with Sevenhills.

Anything near a winery is a good place to be Fifi!

I just knew you would love this post dear Tanya - I can see you cooking up a soul food frenzy in our retreat kitchen!

Tranquil - the most perfect word to describe the retreat Ann.

    Looking, looking, looking Amanda!
