Secret Santas

MOTH would go into total meltdown at the sight of so many Santas & even I have to admit a couple in this group do look decidedly dodgy! I let the in-house Christmas Grinch know that my threat to do a post on his seasonal grumpiness occurred & of all the resultant comments. I'm happy to report that he's been slightly better behaved this week (that may have something to do with being sent to another part of the house to sleep until he lost the grumps!), so thank you everyone, as usual your valuable input produced the desired results. He now openly admits that as a collective group, Hedgies are not to be messed with!

One other reason why he's starting to become chirpy again is frequent reminders from all of the sons of this - the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show which will be on telly Christmas Eve. Of course he'll be too busy wrapping presents, cleaning the silver, ironing the table linen, phoning the elderly aunts, making the creme anglaise, dressing the table, preparing the guest room & a few zillion other last minute things to sit with a beer or 5 & watch this facile display of frippery - NOT!!!!

  1. Great to hear MOTH is coming out of the doldrums, and I know at heart he's not nearly as bad as he's painted. Maybe a quick little peek at the Secret Fashion Show will have him back on track and ready to be the MOTH we've come to know and love. Maybe you just might get a wee bit of help with the xmas wrapping. Happy Christmas. xx

  2. Bugger - I do believe I've spilt champagne on my keyboard due to another fit of giggles! Make sure he spends extra time with the elderly aunts so he will have more silver to polish during future Christmas's ...
Enjoy 105°F - The snow has disappeared here, leaving in its wake a big bog of mud and a gentle 5°C...
The French (as backward as the banking system is) thankfully work in kms and metres and cms and °C. Which means that for now I haven't burnt too many Christmas dinners. Now - where was that Panettone recipe.
WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS to you dear Millie. You can not know how much your posts brighten my days!

  3. That's a great list of chores you have lined up for MOTH! I'm taking notes to pass on to my hubby and I'm definitely not telling him about the Victoria's Secret fashion show! Merry Christmas to you and all you boys! Tracey xx

  4. Who needs Santa when they have Victoria's Secret to keep them entertained. Only hope it doesn't lead to another 'chore' for us.

  5. Oh those VS girls, it's just like looking in a mirror.....NOT!!! That'll be the day :)

I say give MOTH and the boys a list of chores and completion = the VS show :)

I quite agree that too many Santas are just plain scary!

    Merry Christmas! :)

  6. Oh, no wonder MOTH has become decidedly chirpier....One of my husbands little pleasures. When we were in the U.S. he could sniff out a Victoria's Secret shop from miles away !!
Many thanks, Mill's for your wonderful posts that I have been reading over the last 7 or 8 months since I started this blogging thing. It has been such a pleasure, having a good old laugh at your sense of humour.
Wishing you, MOTH and son's 1,2,3,4and 5, and their various partners a very Happy Christmas and many happy times in the New Year. Lots of love. XXXX

Merry Christmas to you and the crew,

  11. Pleased to hear that MOTH is livening up a bit. Not sure how the Victoris's secret girls would go down with MR FF as I tried showing him the La Senza show the other day and he continued to read his Screwfix catalogue :-)I guess that there is no competition when it comes to browsing for a new power tool or sexy lingerie for your woman. The powertool wins hands down every time hence I feel that I maybe getting a practical present this year....

  12. Compared to those VS models I probably more closely resemble a dodgy Santa! Glad to hear Moth is coming around. Merry Christmas to you all!!

  13. Dear Millie, I fail to see the attraction that these boys have to the Victoria's Secret models when they have the likes of you and me to gaze adoringly at every day, not that I wander round like that (in Brunnel's dreams!)Have a very Merry Christmas, and thank you so much for all the support, encouragement and laughter! I look forward to more in 2010. Amanda xx

  16. Oh Millie you are hysterical. I can always count on a pick-me-up whenever I read your posts! And I was thinking of you this morning as I was posting on Hubby's mullet! We hung the 'mullet ornament' last night and I'm quite proud of it. It's by far, the most beautiful ornament on our tree. xoxoTrina
