Little Red Dress

MOTH & I take turns each Valentine's Day to do the full catastrophe at home. Plan & prepare a speccie dinner, choose the accompanying wines, create that special ambiance & set a REALLY romantic table. This year it was my year & we had a truly gorgeous time. Each year MOTH reminds me that on our first date I wore a little red Thai silk mini dress with spaghetti straps. Each year he asks where that little number is & each year I fudge the answer. The truth is that in a fit of pique, after a particularly big 'tiff', I grabbed it from it's hanger & tossed it in the garbage bin! One year I know I'll have to spill the beans, but for the moment, all he needs to know is that 'It's somewhere in the wardrobe I suppose.' Thanks to Valentino for the LRD memories!

  6. Hi Millie,

Been in Melbourne for the last couple of days. Went and took the family including kids to the AC/DC concert. Yes, we took earplugs and AC/DC were fantastic. My kids are 14, nearly 12 and 9 and I think if you don't do these things with them now before you know it they will have left home. Caught up now on previous posts. Loved the post of MOTH's favourite Auntie's. Actually in the paper in Melbourne I think it was yesterdays paper they had a story on a lady who was 102 and she was going to the AC/DC concert. Didn't really know the music, was a classic pianist and was looking forward to the concert so much despite the horror of her family. I think maybe she was in for a bit of a rude shock!!!! But good on her for wanting to experience something different at her age, or any age for that matter. I am in full agreement with you. I want to always think young. I think that's where a lot of people go wrong. Just sitting in a nursing home waiting to die. Now onto St. Valentine's day. Had to laugh....you are lucky, I'm sure the red dress would still fit you, my husband raves about the top and skirt he saw me in when I was working. If I tried to fit into it now I would have a asthma attack. I think it's great that you can celebrate St. Valentine's Day with a special meal. Anyway, better go as the microwave just told me my milk coffee is ready!!
    Take care

  7. To do that, Mill's is a lovely tribute to your relationship...I'd just keep that 'lost' dress, 'lost' at the back of the wardrobe.
A bit like ' don't mention the war' in Fawlty Towers....'Don't mention the LRD !!
