Please Be Seated

Ever since I was little I've been a wriggle-bum. Squirmy is my middle name. So finding the right chair on any given occasion is of paramount importance to me. Some days I'm fine to stretch out on our long sofa. Other days, I'm happy in our single tub chairs. Then on those times where the infamous Nurse's Back complaint rules my day, I'll drag one of the dining room chairs into the Living Room, as all I want is to be forced to sit bolt upright to read or watch the telly. All of these wonderful room settings please my back, 'cos there's a real variety of chairs to choose from. I'd be a bit like Goldilocks, flitting from chair to chair until I'm able to say 'And this one is just right!'

  1. I have been trying to decide whether to arrange my 2 lounge chairs at angles to the coffee table or straight-on and this post hasn't helped me at all...there are examples of both and they all look flippin'awesome!

  2. Yes comfort is key... some more modern chairs are NOT comfortable but others surprisingly are... I personally love a good arm chair, very old man I know.

  3. Hi Millie,

You have shared some beautiful chairs here ~ and I am sure that Goldilocks would find the one that is most comfortable for her.

    Have a great week

  4. Yes, comfort is a plus when it come to beautiful furniture, but so is style and color! :D I love most of these rooms - just not a fan of modern style. To plain and cold for me!

    Hugs!

  5. What pretty rooms! They are all such fun to look at but I do have my favorites. And like you, I must confess that my favorites must have lots of seating options: some for visiting, others for reading, and best of all, one or two for lounging (I'm sure one day I'll have time!)
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. Hi Millie - perfect post for me as I am in need of some inspiration for seating around my fireplace - we have been back in the house for 6 months now and I still can't decide how to decorate my "formal" lounge room. A sofa or two, a chair or two, maybe a sofa and a chair! So many choices - if only I could bring home the sofa's and chairs from the shop to test out before I purchased! Leanne xx PS. Makeover season in blogland - glad you like my new look!

  9. Such lovely rooms, especially the one with the leafy ottoman. I do like it when people don't have a set of chairs, but rather assemble a diverse mix well.

  10. As always, I'm loving the white. Especially that white painted floor in the last pic.
