Spring Break

Spring has finally, albeit somewhat tentatively, graced us with her presence here in the Hills. We have been fire-less for 3 nights now, but I'm not putting the firewood basket into storage under the house just yet. I'm still in catch-up mode at work from all the goings-ons of last week & am up to my neck preparing all the submission documents for my largest Tender which is due in 5 days. There's just a gentle hint of breeze today, & now that the camelias are fading, the rhododendrons have taken their spot with a blaze of colour throughout the garden. I'm working from home today, so have decided to take the whole lot outside & work quietly in the dappled sunlight, with just the noisy birds & my cell phone for company. Life is good & I'm grateful.

  3. So exciting now that spring has sprung in Melbourne too. Warmer days and walks after dinner...a promise of a gorgeous summer to come. Beautiful image of the courtyard Millie. I hope you get a bit of time to enjoy the spring songs of the birds - not just find them distracting to your work!

  4. Hi Millie,

Enjoy working from home with the birds and sunshine.
Spring is in full bloom here, with my wisteria looking pretty.
My camellias are almost gone for another year.

Have a great Wednesday and good luck with the work load.
    Hugs
    Carolyn

  5. While spring is making its way to Australia, fall had definitely started here: rain, lots of leaves on the lawn, in the streets, everywhere, but that has it's charm too (especially after we've been away from the real seasons for some years). So my wood basket is filled up too!
Have a lovely day outside & good luck with all the work!

  7. Thinking of you as Autumn rolls in and the last days of warm weather blow away with the red and gold leaves. Got the fire ready but still hanging in there without one. Gratitude - that universal experience that unites us all.
    Lovely post Millie

  8. It's nice to count our blessings occasionally isn't it. Sounds like a lovely day. Just think, you will be home from work early! And, no one will know if you pop a load of washing on.

  10. I don't think that I like this topsy turvy world, Mill's as I am so envious of your lovely Spring weather !! We are now into the depths of Autumn which, as lovely as it is, herald's the onset of winter !
Enjoy being outside and don't forget.... all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy ! XXXX

  13. Your village sounds delightful. I wish we had more cooler weather, but it's popped back into the 80's. I am highlighting your blog sometime this week because your photos are so lovely, Millie ~ xox Alexandra
