Goodbye Spring

It's November 30th, the last day of Spring & last night it was freezing here in the Hills! We had to light the fire again in the Living Room to keep warm, & I cranked the electric blanket up to 9 before I hopped into bed. The first day of Summer is tomorrow & I want to start eating outside again, just like this gorgeous image from Eva Kylland - bring it on!

  1. It was cold here too and wet, wet, wet! The poor farmers are nearly going mad all the trucks and tractors are bogged and the harvest is almost a complete washout! Come on Summer!!

  2. I for one am over this Winter which has been way too long. I don't even like the hot weather and I am dying for it to come.

No wonder I keep getting colds !

  3. All I was thinking of in my Dreamy Garden party post was Australia and how it is spring time there. Never did it occur to me that you were freezing your tooties off. Our weather is rather menopausal at the moment, hot flashes. I am gonna try your hot chocolate reciepes this winter, perhaps you picked a favorite? Love, Heidi

  4. As much as my heart goes out to you Mill's, spare a thought for us Brits......... we are in the grips of winter with our first snowfall. We don't normally get snow until January so it looks as if the wotlds weather is a bit off this year. Here's hoping that your Summer will be better than your Spring and that you and MOTH will be eating outside before very long. XXXX

  5. What a pretty table setting - we enjoy eating outdoors in the warmer weather too which has well and truly hit WA - I'm a bit over the heat already.

  7. After all my moaning and pining for droughts, it's been so glorious in Auckland I am almost embarrassed... almost... mostly I am just loving it - sorry... but it did rain for six months straight so I feel your pain... !

  9. I concur, bring it on! But why am I still wearing opaque stockings to work, taking a heat bag to bed (i'm such a nanna, but else is a single girl to do) and wearing a coat to work. Hello Adelaide summer, where are you?? I was on Milan Terrace last weekend for a 1st birthday - we all froze to death - ridiculous! xx

  10. It's freezing here too and for us, it's just the beginning! Thanks for your comment the other day, Millie. You're now only the second person I know who's been to Langkawi! We stayed on the South side of the island but did go by Tanjung Rhu (our friends from Malaysia always stay there) and it was lovely. The beach there was definitely one of the best!

  11. It's pouring here and cold .... the roses have panicked and disappeared, the cornflowers are lying on the ground looking distressed, the delphiniums have collapsed .... you're getting the picture aren't you! Hope your staying warm. Leigh

  13. I felt the same way last spring and I'm now looking forward to winter here in the U.S., but we'll see how long that lasts. You'll be dining outdoors in no time, Millie!
