It's been ages since I did a Weekend Retreat post, but I'm convinced the wonderful Wreta Gestgifveri Inn an hour out of Stockholm will make amends. When Owner Jim Grundstrom, one of Sweden's most accomplished interior designers, first saw the seventeenth century building it was derelict & empty. Seeing the potential he set about restoring it to a gracious boutique country hotel. Every guest room mirrors a different epoch - from 17th century baroque to Carl Larsson’s turn-of-the-century romanticism. No commentary is necessary, this is bliss! The most joyous of weekends to you my friends.

Hi Millie,
ReplyDeleteI love this place and all the photos you have shared.
All the white makes for such a relaxing and peaceful place.

Oh, Heaven I'm in Heaven, Mill's. This is just my style of interior decoration. Beautiful simplicity with wonderful style. Those Scandanavians certainly know how to do it, don't they? I certainly wouldn't mind a few days of R&R there, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHope that the foot is improving daily and MOTH is at your beck and call !! Have a great weekend. XXXX
I think it's the garden seat I like best. Do you think it's warm enough over there to sit in it??? You really can't go past white. Mind you - that bed is fabulous- would MOTH like the 4 poster there??
ReplyDeleteRomantic and timeless, those are the 2 qualities I find the key ingredients for designs I love. Have a great weekend Millie. Love ya, Heidi
