Date Night

It's a hot Summer's day here in the Hills with the temperature soaring. I couldn't believe my ears this morning when I heard MOTH down at his woodpiles chopping, chopping with his trusty axe. For those of us with a wood fire it's a constant battle to keep ahead ready for the sudden onset of Winter's icy breath. He's now barrowing his work up to the wood shed in the courtyard & it's hot, hot work. He's just hit me up for a cold drink & a date tonight. So it's out to dinner & then a movie. I want to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy but I reckon a tired MOTH would be snoring before the opening credits rolled, so it may have to be something a little less demanding. So George C.'s new flick is looking good. It's the weekend, so go enjoy!

  1. Oh, hot work! Best to get it done early in the day!
    Enjoy your date!

  2. Have a great date Millie and please give us a review of George's film for I'm hearing mixed reactions.

  3. When he's finished your pile would he like to come and prepare mine please?!!!!!!

  4. Sounds like the perfect evening Millie. Just perfect. A-M xx

  5. Oh Mill's,
I'm a bit worried about MOTH'S back, chopping all of that wood...... I think that the rigours of the mornings activities might give date night a disappointing ending !! haha.
Have fun both of you. XXXX

  6. A date night sounds divine - I would love to know what movie you saw - I can't remember the last time I went to the movies with my husband, and we're big movie fans! It used to be when the Oscar nominations were announced, we made sure that we had seen all the Best Picture nominees, so that we could root for our favorites on Oscar night. I should try to get Mr R. to go to the movies with me :)

  7. Hi Millie.. F and I also shared popcorn with Mr. C on Saturday evening.. what did you think of movie.. reviews please.. :D PS.. Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together. - Vincent Van Gogh - Hope your wood pile is looking pretty?..

  8. Oh do tell if you enjoy the movie. I like the sound of this date night. Fiona

  9. Moth,
Your husband and my husband are cut of the same wood. You should see our stacks. He just made me a fire this morning.
    Now those logs are love.

  10. I want to see that movie, my sister loved it.

  11. Hi Millie your husband must be a gentleman!!!!!
Your evening sounds like a perfect evening!!!!!
    I'm so glad for you!!!!
    Have a nice week.

  12. Hope you had a fun date night Millie...and your wood pile is working it's way to being the perfect size for your first winter's fire. He has time up his sleeve.
Good man for getting an early start. :) Did you see The Descendants? We saw it over the weekend, I cried from beginning to end...I do this all the time.
I enjoyed the film...I left the theatre, bumping into our neighbour and she said she was very disappointed. To each his own...
I have not see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy....I love a good spy thriller. Mr. H is hooked to an Aussie TV shoe that just started showing in the UK...'Sea Patrol'.
Great to hear those Aussie accents again!

    Jeanne :)
