What a fantastic day it was yesterday! It rained & rained most of day & by the time I went to bed last night we'd had 48mm. - hooray! I woke a couple of times to heavy rain showers thundering down on the roof, it was a wonderful sound. This morning all the birds in the garden are almost deafening us with their happy noises & the plants & trees looked so refreshed. Just as it was starting to rain yesterday, MOTH pulled me over to our Living Room window & silently pointed outside. A shallow puddle had formed on one of our garden paths & a little Willie Wagtail was splashing around in the water, washing all the hot dry Summer's dust from it's feathers! Life is good again.

ReplyDeleteIsn't the sound of rain on the roof the most wonderful and luxurious sound in the world, especially in these dry times we live in. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a nice rain to refresh everything! We should be getting some rain this week... but for today it is a glorious sunshiny day for my baby's birthday!

Nothing beats the sound of rain on your roof (especially if it's a tin roof). We haven't had as much rain here in Melbourne, but we have had some, and it's been a blessing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, just wanted to thank you for the lovely comment you left on my blog post about my dog - such sage advice. Lee x
Hi Millie,
ReplyDeleteIt has to be the loviest sound hearing the raindrops on the roof at night and you are tucked up in bed.
I love the photo of the raindrops on the pretty flower.
Beautiful photography.
Hugs
Carolyn
The rain must be such a huge relief after those soaring summer temperatures. Enjoy the puddles dear Millie, xv.
ReplyDeleteIt's been wonderful hasn't it? I've got a tin roof, so it was lovely to hear, and so wonderful for our long suffering gardens.
ReplyDelete“Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain” - Oh how poetic! ;) Shan xo
